Wet Wet Wet and Hue and Cry are among the acts fighting to keep Scottish venues open as the coronavirus pandemic threatens the future of a number of live music hotspots.

The Save Our Scottish Venues – Multi Stage Virtual Festival will take place on Friday, and also features stars including Tunstall and Luke La Volpe.

The event is part of the #SaveOurScottishVenues campaign launched by Britain’s Music Venues Trust to help bars, clubs and concert halls unable to host gigs due to measures brought in to halt the spread of the coronavirus.

Other acts announced as performing are Fatherson, Honeyblood, The XCERTS, Declan Welsh & The Decadent West, Hunter & The Bear, Be Charlotte, Anchor Lane, SEIL LIEN, Kerri Watt, The Jellyman’s Daughter, and Bow Anderson.

Ticks for the event cost £5 to tune in live at 8 pm UK time, or £10 to view on catchup. More info is available here.
