The Lottery Winners are on track to claim their first-ever UK No. 1 album this week with ‘Anxiety Replacement Therapy’.
The indie rockers from Leigh, Greater Manchester – who previously found success with their 2020 eponymous LP and 2021’s ‘Something To Leave The House For’ – come in ahead of Jessie Ware’s ‘That! Feels Good!’ in the midweeks, which currently sits at No. 2 (via OfficialCharts).
If the group holds on to that position with the album, which features Boy George, Frank Turner and Shaun Ryder, it’ll not only be their first chart-topper but also their first UK Top 10 entry.
Elsewhere on the Albums Chart, north-west London rapper Nines is at No. 3 with ‘Crop Circle 2’ – the follow-up to his 2020 No. 1 ‘Crabs in a Bucket’ – with US alt-rockers The National at No. 4 with ‘First Two Pages of Frankenstein’.
English singer-songwriter Freya Ridings’ rounds out the Top 5 with her sophomore record, ‘Blood Orange’.
