Jo O’Meara is revisiting some of S Club’s biggest hits for a new album of acoustic cover versions.
The singer is set to return to the charts next month with her second solo LP ‘With Love’, featuring the singles On The Surface and Sweet Surrender.
And Jo shows no sign of slowing down as she reveals plans to re-record a handful of her group’s classic tracks for a second record.
She tells The Sun: “I have now decided I’m going back in the studio to do a full album of the S Club 7 classics.
“I’m going to pick a couple of the songs I love the most from all the albums and I’m going to make an album of acoustic S Club songs.”
The star recently revisited Don’t Stop Movin’ for an ‘Unplugged’ recording, which features on ‘With Love’, and it was fans’ positive reactions that persuaded her to delve deeper into the vault.
“After the success of Don’t Stop Movin’ I had a lot of fans reaching out and saying, ‘Can you do Have You Ever’ or ‘Can you do this song’.
“I thought, ‘Do you know what, the fans have been so supportive of S Club 7 and of me, it would be a lovely way to say thank you so much’.”
‘With Love’ is Jo’s first solo album in 16 years following 2005’s ‘Relentless’, featuring the UK Top 20 single What Hurts the Most.
Of her latest collection, she says: “I’ve made this album with all my love, but I’m also sending it with love to all the fans out there that have been so supportive to me for all of these years, through the ups and downs.
“I’m so proud of what I’ve done with this album, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
‘With Love’ is available to pre-order now on CD and Cassette.
