Enrique Iglesias will continue to make new music after releasing his upcoming album ‘Final’.
The singer will release part one of his aptly-titled LP on September 17 and, after previously questioning the future of his career, the Hero hitmaker has confirmed its follow-up will indeed be his last full-length record.
He told Rolling Stone: “It’s not a decision that I thought about a few weeks ago, a few months ago, or even a year ago. It’s a while back.
“I feel good about it. I’ve been asked a bunch of times, ‘Are you sure this is the right decision?’ But this is how I felt in 2017, this is how I feel now.
“I wanted to release this album in 2017, and I just keep putting out singles. I was touring a lot and I didn’t have time to go to the studio…
“In the last year, I’ve had a lot of time to go to the studio and… just go back and forth and finish up what I’ve needed to finish up for the last three years.”
Despite calling time on his album-making career, that doesn’t mean Enrique is stepping away from the music industry altogether.
He added: “I think it’s the right thing to do. It doesn’t mean I’m going to stop writing songs, but maybe (I’ll do things) differently.
“I look at this like an album’s a book and each song is a chapter… Hopefully I can put out more chapters later on.”
Enrique’s new record is his first since 2014’s ‘Sex and Love’ and will feature collaborations with several artists.
It comes following a period of standalone collaborations from the star, including tracks with Bad Bunny and Pitbull.
