Everything But The Girl are back with their new album ‘Blue Reservoir’ – check out the single ‘Young and Dumb’ below.
Due February 19 on Buzzin’ Fly Records and inspired by their recent performances at East London’s MOTH Club, the LP is the follow-up to ‘Fuse‘, the eleventh album from the group – helmed by Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn – released in 2023.
Explaining how the live setting inspired their latest work, Thorn says: “There was an intensity and simplicity to the MOTH shows that took us back to how we started out.
“Direct, rooted in guitar and voice, a few extra colours. We hadn’t been in that world for a long time and it just felt fresh and real.”
On his use of nylon string guitar throughout the project, Watt adds: “It is the sound of so much of the music I first connected with growing up, and I’d never actually owned one. It became quite an emotional springboard for me. I found a voice I thought I’d lost.”
The album’s ten songs were recorded over 10 consecutive days at London’s RAK Studios in July 2026. The first single, Young and Dumb’, is out now.
‘Blue Reservoir’ is out February 19 and available to pre-order from Amazon, HMV, Rough Trade, Townsend and more, with exclusive signed editions available on Everything But The Girl’s Online Store. Listen to ‘Young and Dumb’ and watch the music video below.
