——– Original Story ——–
Former Fleetwood Mac star Billy Burnette is battling Covid-19.
The singer and guitarist, who replaced Lindsey Buckingham in 1988 on the group’s Behind The Mask and Time albums, is being treated for the virus at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
His son, Billy Burnette, Jr., posted on Facebook: “Billy Burnette tested positive for Covid / Corona virus but he’s tough and could be released from vanderbilt soon!!
“Everyone send up a prayer and send and post some of your favorite songs by him !! Thanks BbJr.”
Billy joined the group alongside Rick Vito and, during his tenure, both Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie stepped down, and he played alongside Bekka Bramlett and Traffic star Dave Mason.
He departed the group ahead of Fleetwood Mac’s reunion with Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie for The Dance in 1997.
We’re sending lots of love to Billy.
