Tina Turner is overjoyed after being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Private Dancer star was inducted into the Hall as a solo artist during Saturday’s ceremony. She was previously inducted alongside late ex-husband and collaborator Ike Turner in 1991.
Taking to social media, the star shared a portrait of herself with the accolade and penned: “As you can surely tell from my beaming smile: I am thrilled to now be officially inducted into the @rockhall as a solo artist.
“What an honor! I am grateful to so many people who stood by me on my journey here – especially you, dear fans. Keep on rocking!”
During the ceremony, Tina was honoured with performances from Mickey Guyton, who performed What’s Love Got to Do With It, and Christina Aguilera, who belted out Nutbush City Limits.
H.E.R. sang It’s Only Love with Keith Urban – who stepped in to replace Bryan Adams, who tested positive for Covid-19.
Tina appeared virtually to accept the accolade with a short video from her residence in Sweden.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which also honoured JAY-Z, Foo Fighters, Carole King and more, will air on HBO from November 20.
