Sophie Ellis-Bextor has filmed a guest role for ‘Neighbours’.
The Mixed Up World hitmaker was spotted filming scenes with Amanda Holden and Jemma Donovan alongside the River Thames in London.
It comes as the Australian series heads overseas as Jemma’s character Harlow tries to solve a family mystery concerning her mother, Prue, played by Denise van Outen in 2020.
Sophie pops up to give Harlow – the real life daughter of Jason Donovan – advice regarding her late mum, while Amanda will play her aunt Harriet.
On joining the cast of ‘Neighbours’, Sophie said: “‘Neighbours’ was a huge part of my school days. We all watched it, loved it, talked about it. It’s a joy to now be able to say I’ve been in it!
“Thanks to everyone from the cast and crew for being so lovely. I loved it!”
Jason Herbison, executive producer of ‘Neighbours’, added: “We are absolutely thrilled with how filming has gone with the wonderful Amanda Holden and Jemma Donovan, to have Sophie Ellis-Bextor join us is the absolute icing on the cake and we can’t wait to share the storyline with our UK audience next year.”
Sophie recently released While You’re Still Young from the soundtrack to Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’.
Next year, she’ll hit the stage for her ‘Kitchen Disco’ Tour, featuring tracks from the shows and her subsequent best-of album ‘Songs From the Kitchen Disco‘.
