Natasha Bedingfield has returned to the Top 40 of the UK Singles Chart with her classic hit Unwritten.
Twenty years after its original release, the track re-entered the countdown at No. 24 this week (January 12) after featuring in the romantic comedy film, ‘Anyone But You’.
It marks Natasha’s first appearance in the charts since her 2007 Sean Kingston collaboration, Love Like This.
Prior to her latest chart action, the singer-songwriter reacted to the renewed interest in the single – which appeared on her debut album of the same name – sharing a compilation of TikToks on the platform.
She captioned it: “A rom com has got girls falling out of cinemas singing my song — and now it’s trending!”
“So much joy on TikTok right now,” added the Pocketful Of Sunshine singer in the comments. “Thank you all so much for making my song #47 on the Viral 50!!! I’m gonna go throw myself on the ground now.”
Unwritten isn’t the only 2000s song to be scaling the charts after featuring in a film; Sophie Ellis-Bextor is back in the Top 10 with her 2001 classic Murder On The Dancefloor, after it went viral on the back of a nude dance scene in ‘Saltburn’.
