Gary Numan’s forthcoming album Intruder is set for a May, 2021 release.

The singer will debut his 19th LP on May 21st – two years after he dropped his last collection, Savage (Songs from a Broken World).

“I’m proud to announce that my new album ‘Intruder’ will be released on May 21st,” tweeted the star.

“I can’t wait for you all to hear it.”

While Gary’s previous effort offered a dystopian look at life in the 21st century, Intruder is a “philosophical examination of a potential future apocalypse: the planet can only survive by purging its inhabitants,” according to a press release.

Intruder charts a wide spectrum of emotions: Is This World Not Enough and A Black Sun exude regret and despair, while Now And Forever offers hope of eternity in the end days. The sparse, sorrowful The End Of Dragons, meanwhile, ends on the chilling reminder that what’s broken can’t always be fixed. 

Select formats feature two bonus tracks – When You Fall and a stripped-back version of The End of Dragons.  

Recorded at the former Tubeway Army star’s home studio in Los Angeles and at producer Ade Fenton’s studio in Bath, Intruder is the fifth in the pair’s long-running collaboration, beginning with 2006’s Jagged.

Intruder is available to pre-order on standard Standard and Deluxe CD, 2LP Black and Coloured Vinyl and as a Double Picture Disc LP, and Cassette from Gary’s official store.

Pre-ordering the album grants access to a private area of Gary’s online store, where you receive exclusive album text, audio and video updates documenting the creation of the project.

There will also be two more exclusive coloured double-vinyl formats: an indie-exclusive red pressing and a silver edition from Amazon.
