Dolly Parton is keen to join forces with Rolling Stones on a rock album.
The country superstar, who will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame later this year, wants to collaborate with Mick Jagger and co for a new release.
Speaking to Billboard about the group’s frontman, after being presented with a photo of the pair, she said: “Yeah, I loved him and I love Satisfaction.
“I’m hoping we’re both around long enough when I get to doing this record that he’ll come sing with me, and I may have to use the Rolling Stones to play behind me.
“I might do something like that — try to get some different rock bands, some of the classic bands, to back me on some of the songs I do and then do two or three or four originals.”
Dolly will be inducted into the Hall of Fame during a ceremony in November; despite previously insisting she didn’t feel that she had “earned the right” to be recognised by the institution, saying in a statement: “I really do not want votes to be split because of me, so I must respectfully bow out.”
However, following the announcement that she will be included in the Class of 2022, the Jolene star said: “I am honoured and humbled by the fact that I have been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Of course I will accept it gracefully.
“Thanks to everyone that voted for me and to everyone at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. I will continue to work hard and try to live up to the honour.”
The institution announced this year’s inductees earlier this month, with Eurythmics, Dolly Parton, Eminem, Lionel Richie, Pat Benatar, and Carly Simon joining the class of 2022 in the Performers category.
“This diverse group of inductees each had a profound impact on the sound of youth culture and helped change the course of rock & roll,” said John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
“Their music moved generations and influenced so many artists that followed.”
The induction ceremony takes place November 5, 2022 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. It will air at a later date on HBO and stream on HBO Max.
