Coldplay have almost completed work on their 10th studio album ‘Moon Music’.

The group, fronted by Chris Martin, last year revealed they’d stop making records after 2025, but according to the musician they’re wasting no time recording new material in that window while they can.

Speaking to City News about bringing their ‘Music of the Spheres’ world tour to Canada, he revealed: “We’re finishing an album called ‘Moon Music’, which is the second ‘Music of the Spheres’ volume, but that won’t come out for a little bit.

“We might start playing some songs at some point this year.”

Having completed a triumphant run of six sold out nights at London’s Wembley Stadium last year, Coldplay will play further European and UK stadium shows, set to take place over the summer.

The dates include the tour’s first visits to Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands, alongside UK shows in Manchester and Cardiff.

In addition to selling more than four million tickets already and attracting rave reviews, the trek has been heralded for its groundbreaking set of sustainability initiatives, which include a show powered by 100 per cent renewable energy in almost all locations.

It runs off the world’s first tourable battery system and utilises power bikes and kinetic dancefloors, which allow fans to help power the show, along with solar panels and wind turbines at every venue. The group have also pledged to cut tour emissions by 50 per cent and are encouraging fans to travel by green transport, planting one tree for every ticket sold.
