Coldplay have broken the record for playing the largest stadium show of the 21st century for more than 111,000 fans.
The band performed two nights at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India, which formed the basis of their new Disney+ movie and marked the first time the feelslikeimfallinginlove hitmakers have played in the country.
It means they narrowly beat the record set by country star George Strait, who played to 110,905 fans in Texas back in June. It remains the largest US stadium concert.
The India dates are part of the band’s ‘Music Of The Spheres’ world tour, which launched in March 2022 and has reached five continents, selling more tickets than any tour in history, at 10.3 million as of December (via Billboard Boxscore).
It’s set to resume in April, with shows in Hong Kong, China and Seoul, before heading back to the US and Canada, and wrapping with 10 sold-out nights at Wembley Stadium in London throughout August and September.
