Ed Sheeran joined Busted in London on Tuesday night (October 10) as the band closed out their ‘Greatest Hits’ tour.

The singer-songwriter took the stage alongside Charlie Simpson, James Bourne and Matt Willis at The O2 for a rendition of their 2004 single, Who’s David.

The Bad Habits star kicked off the performance before being joined by the band for the remainder of the song.

Busted determined not to ‘fit in’ with new music

Elsewhere in the show, the trio was joined by sibling group Hanson for a rendition of their ’90s classic MMMBop, which they released as a collaboration earlier this year, along with a joint rendition of Busted’s Sleeping With The Light On.

“It’s been such an honour to sing this ’90s classic song with the band who made it 25 years on from original release,” said James said in a statement at the time.

“To have them as special guests on tour with us in September will be really special too, we’re huge fans of Hanson!”

Taylor Hanson added: “It’s been a thrill to reimagine MMMBop with Busted and to see how a song with such history comes to life in a new way. This is a true fusion of Hanson and Busted, we can’t wait to share it.”

Last month, Busted topped the charts with ‘Greatest Hits 2.0’ – the first compilation album from the band, which features re-recorded versions of their biggest hits from the past two decades.

Speaking to RETROPOP ahead of the release of their latest collection, the group shared their hopes that the record would top the charts, with Charlie Simpson joking: “It’s the only thing missing on my fucking shelf! We have four No. 1 singles but I want that gold trophy in the middle!”

Having recorded the new track Good One for ‘Greatest Hits 2.0’, Matt went on to share his anticipation for the band’s next era, admitting: “We’re always thinking about the music. Normally it takes that for us to press the button and the reason that this works is that we can re-record the songs with new people and it’s exciting. But moving forward, it will all be about new songs and that’s in the pipeline.

“The best thing about Busted now is that everything is us. Not that it wasn’t in the beginning, but we had a lot of other voices. Now, we listen to people because they know what they’re doing and they’re good at their jobs, but the buck stops with us.”
