Blondie are set to tell the story of their incredible career through the eyes of 10 of their biggest hits in ‘Against The Odds’ – a brand new graphic novel.

The book, due for release in Fall 2021, combines “an imaginative take on an oral history of the band, interspersed with artistic interpretations of 10 songs from their catalog,” according to a teaser for the publication.

“‘Blondie: Against The Odds’ captures the friction of NYC as the band fought their way to prominence, as well as the power and energy contained within the songs that fueled their rise to legendary status,” it adds.

The graphic novel is available in a variety of formats, including standard Softcover and Hardback versions, along with Deluxe bundles featuring a variety of limited-edition extras.

The Deluxe Edition of ‘Blondie: Against The Odds’ comes as an oversized silver ink hardcover, limited to 3,000 copies, and also includes a graphic novel slipcase, exclusive Blondie 12″ vinyl and three Blondie song-inspired art prints.

Meanwhile, an even more limited Super Deluxe Edition – of just 500 copies – is also the oversized edition, and comes with slipcase, a Blondie music bundle, plus set of 10 exclusive Blondie song-inspired art prints and postcards.

The ten art prints and postcards will be inspired by the following classic Blondie songs: X-Offender (’76) Fade Away And Radiate (’78) Hanging On The Telephone (’78) One Way or Another (’78) Heart of Glass (’78) Dreaming (’79) Atomic (’79) Call Me (’80) Rapture (’80) Island of Lost Souls (’82).

It has yet to be confirmed whether the art prints correspond with the stories inside the graphic novel.

‘Blondie: Against The Odds’ is available to pre-order now.

Blondie have booked a 10-date UK Tour for November, 2021 as the group begins work on new music.

The Maria group are planning to play shows in London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, Hull, Nottingham, Brighton, Cardiff, Glasgow and Leeds in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, singer Debbie Harry recently confirmed Blondie are working on their first new music since 2017’s ‘Pollinator’, teasing: “We have started working on new material but because of the prohibition we haven’t tried to get into the studio as a group.

“We are going to do this collection, as they say, in house. We are going to keep it within people in our band. Even though John is not in the band, he is our producer,” she explained. “I think we are going to do that this time.

“I have been writing. I am always writing. I am always struggling and collecting little titbits and ideas, hoping that it will all fall into place.”

Tickets to Blondie’s UK Tour are available now.
