Avril Lavigne will release her seventh studio album “soon”.
It’s been three years since the singer released her most recent UK Top 10 album ‘Head Above Water’, featuring a surprise crossover to the US Christian Songs chart with its lead single and title track.
But according to Avril, she’s going back to her pop-punk roots on her new collection, which is set to be announced imminently.
Ahead of her latest comeback, the What The Hell hitmaker changed her official website, which now shows a variety of snaps of the star along with the message “Album Coming Soon”.
And it looks like Avril has been teasing new music for some time, sharing what appear to be lyric snippets and song titles over on her Instagram page.
“Take your best shot, give me all that you’ve got, I’ll come in hot like a CANNONBALL,” she penned beneath a photoshoot snap on April 30, with the hashtag “#1”.
“#2” followed on May 12 with the quote, “Tired of being cautious, you make me nauseous,” with fans speculating the Girlfriend star will slowly unveil the album’s tracklist on her feed.
Avril has been in the studio with the likes Machine Gun Kelly and producer John Feldmann, and she recently joined forces with Mod Sun on his song Flames.
The star shot to fame in 2002 with her debut hit, Complicated, and went on to score global success with a further six albums and singles including I’m With You, When You’re Gone and Smile.
