Mariah Carey appears to have taken a savage swipe at ex-husband Tommy Mottola in the section titles for her forthcoming memoir.

The hitmaker has released 15 studio albums since 1990, and on September 29th she’ll publish her first-ever autobiography, The Meaning of Mariah Carey. 

Taking to social media, the star revealed the book will be told in four parts – and record executive Tommy appears to have drawn the short straw when it comes to her narrative of the couple’s union.

Announcing the subheadings, Mariah confirmed part one was Wayward Child – a lyric she’s previously used in her Butterfly song Close My Eyes – part three is All That Glitters, and four is Emancipation.

Part two though, which appears to be about the singer’s first marriage, is titled Sing. Sing. – a turn of phrase Mariah has used often throughout the years to describe the couple’s set-up.

The Sing Sing Correctional Facility is a maximum-security prison in New York and she nicknamed the house she built and lived in with Tommy after the institution, because she felt like a prisoner who was forced to sing 24/7.

Tommy and Mariah married in 1993 when she was 23 years old and he was 44. They split in 1997.

In an interview with Vulture, Mimi previously revealed she “cried writing a lot of parts of this book,” reflecting: “You know what? I’m sure I’m going to have to deal with a lot of people being upset with me. I hope not.”
