Mariah Carey is busy writing and recording new music and finishing up her forthcoming memoir during lockdown in New York
The A No No hitmaker told British Vogue she’s isolating in the Big Apple “with my children and a few friends,” as she detailed her days during the pandemic.
“We’ve been spending the days doing little ‘at home’ live concerts to help those in need,” she shared.
“I’ve also been busy writing songs, working on new material, finishing up my memoir, and listening to Club Quarantine after dark.”
Yep, MC16 is coming – and judging from her recent live performances of Hero, Make It Happen, and Through The Rain for TV benefits, she’s in fine vocal form.
Mimi also opened up about what the pandemic has taught her, revealing it’s made her realise “how important it is to take the time to tell your loved ones how much you care about them because tomorrow is not promised”.
Despite not releasing an album since 2018’s Caution, Mariah’s not been away from the charts, with fan campaigns seeing Charmbracelet and E=MC2 peak on the Global iTunes Chart.
2020 marks 30 years since the star’s debut album was released – and it looks like she’s planning something special to celebrate.
