Cher was the star of the show as she delivered a run of standout performances at the Love Rocks charity benefit at the Beacon Theatre, New York on Thursday (March 6).
The diva was accompanied by Phish co-founder Trey Anastasio at the show, which benefited the charity God’s Love We Deliver, and saw the star perform a trio of hits from across the decades.
Introduced to the stage by Whoopi Goldberg, the pop legend sported an Elvis-inspired outfit, including a black wig, oversized blazer and black pants, as she performed a rendition of Marc Cohn’s Walking In Memphis, with which she scored a hit in 1995.
She later stepped out in a black coat and pants, with a black and white hat, recreating the look she originally wore in the 2002 Song For The Lonely music video, for a rare performance of the track, before returning to the stage once more in a pink jacket to deliver her iconic 1998 hit single, Believe.
The evening also included musical performances by Alicia Keys, Beck, Cher, Kate Hudson, Mavis Staples, Michael McDonald, Peter Frampton, with all of the stars appearing together for a rendition of the Stevie Wonder classic, Higher Ground.
