Steps are celebrating 25 years together with the release of their new ‘Platinum Collection’ greatest hits LP.
The group, which debuted in 1997 with their line-dancing hit single 5,6,7,8, will release their latest retrospective on August 19, featuring their best-loved singles plus two new tracks: Hard 2 Forget and The Runner.
“We cannot believe this year marks our 25th anniversary,” the group declares. “Someone recently mentioned that the latest era of Steps has actually now outlasted our original run which was a delightful surprise.

“This anniversary marks the perfect moment to take a look back at everything we’ve achieved as a band. We realised that we’ve released a full 3 new studio albums since our last Greatest Hits so it felt like time to combine all our hits on one package.
“We’ve recorded two brand-new tracks for the album and presto, the ‘Platinum Collection’ was born. It was such good fun listening back at 25 years of our songs and we hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane as much we did”.
The album is available on multiple formats, including standard CD and deluxe 2CD, 2LP vinyl and cassette. Additionally, each member of the group has an individual cover version of the album, featuring three personally-selected tracks.

Having debuted in 1997, Steps released their first album ‘Step One’ the following year, featuring the singles Last Thing On My Mind, One For Sorrow and Heartbeat – their first UK No. 1 hit, along with its double A-side Tragedy.
They released ‘Steptacular’ and ‘Buzz’ in 1999 and 2001, respectively, before parting company following ‘Gold: Greatest Hits’ in 2001.
Following a reunion in 2011, which saw the band release ‘The Ultimate Collection’ – supported by ‘The Ultimate Tour’ – along with the festive album ‘Light Up The World’ in 2012, they returned in 2017 with their comeback LP ‘Tears on the Dancefloor’, which hit No. 2 in the charts.
In 2020 and 2021, they released ‘What The Future Holds’ Pt 1 and 2, both of which matched their No. 2 chart feat. An arena tour took place in November 2021, ahead of their summer 2022 outdoor performances.
