Steps have dropped a 25th anniversary EP of their iconic hit single, Deeper Shade Of Blue, across digital platforms.
Released in 2000 as the fourth single from their second album, 2000’s ‘Steptacular’, the track gave the group another UK Top 5 hit and remains one of their most popular songs.
To celebrate the milestone, the group issued a limited-edition picture disc vinyl EP for Record Store Day, with four of the six tracks now available online.
Included is the ’25 Revisited Mix’, as featured on the group’s chart-topping ‘Platinum Collection’, along with a brand new remix from Project K.

Later this year, a musical based on Steps’ iconic hits will get its world premiere in November.
Titled ‘Here & Now’, the show is set to feature all of the group’s hits, including the chart-toppers Stomp, Heartbeat and Tragedy, along with classics such as One For Sorrow and Last Thing On My Mind, and more recent cuts like Scared Of The Dark and What The Future Holds.
It follows the workers of a ‘seaside superstore’ and will be written by Shaun Kitchener, with production from the band themselves as well as theatre company ROYO and pop legend Pete Waterman.
“We’ve been lucky to do many things together as a band, but the question we get asked again and again is, ‘Where is the Steps musical?’,” says the group. “Well… it’s finally here and we couldn’t be more excited.
“We’ve searched for the perfect story for our music and we’ve found it in the aisle of a seaside superstore where four friends set out on their own Summer Of Love”.
They add: “It’s a story of friendship, romance and community; packed with our biggest hits and sure to have everybody laughing, crying and dancing in the aisles.
“We can’t wait to open the doors later this year, and see you there!”
