Steps were due to announce new music before the coronavirus lockdown came into force, according to singer Faye Tozer.
The star spoke about future plans for the group during a Instagram live chat with Strictly Come Dancing professional Janette Manrara, and admitted it was “frustrating” to have to delay plans when the nationwide restrictions came into force.
“I can’t say anything official, but we’ve been working on stuff for the next chapter,” she teased. “So, let’s get this quarantine out of the way, so we can do some announcements.
The After The Love Has Gone singer added: “Lots of announcements coming. It’s really exciting and it was just so frustrating, because it was literally on the tip of our tongues just before we went on lockdown.
“We can’t wait, we’ve been so busy. Once we’re out, we’re gonna be out out!”
Claire Richards confirmed Steps have been working on new music last year, telling Lorraine the group has “a new album coming next year,” and “there will be a tour after that as well.”
Until then, we’ll just have Tears On The Dancefloor on repeat…
