Saint Etienne have announced their Christmas 2022 fan club releases.
It’s become tradition for the group to make available special edition records over the holidays, but last year they skipped the usual celebration in favour of their Xmas single, Her Winter Coat.
Flash forward 12 months, however, and they’re back with two new releases, available exclusively from their online store.
Available as a fan club only album, ‘The Character Of Saint Etienne’ features 12 cuts from the recent Saint Etienne era, some of which “were one-off projects, others gems that we ruthlessly tossed aside for reasons no one can quite remember,” according to the band.
It will be pressed on transparent deep blue vinyl, along with a super limited black vinyl edition. All copies come with a download card and include an exclusive Christmas card signed by Sarah Cracknell, Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs.
Also being issued is a vinyl edition of ‘Fairfax High’, the companion piece to 1998’s ‘Good Humor’, as a blue, white and clear splatter vinyl and a limited black vinyl.
Both are available to pre-order from 6 pm GMT on November 17 and will ship from December 1.
Additionally, the group will kick off the new year with the release of ‘Good Humor’ on transparent green, dark green and white splatter vinyl, in celebration of its 25th anniversary.
These won’t ship until February, but orders placed before December 13 will receive a free 10-track live CD entitled ‘Saint Etienne / Los Angeles ’99’, featuring 10 songs recorded on the ‘Good Humor’ US tour.
All releases will be available to pre-order via the Saint Etienne Online Store from 6 pm GMT on November 17.
