S Club powered through their catalogue of hits and paid tribute to Paul Cattermole as they began their ‘Good Times Tour’ on Thursday (October 12) night.

The group took to the stage in Manchester for their 25th anniversary run, launching into the set with the classic S Club Party before delivering a total of 20 cuts from across the decades.

During the set, Jo O’Meara, Rachel Stevens, Jon Lee, Tina Barrett and Bradley McIntosh stopped to remember their late bandmate, showing a video montage of the late singer on the screens.

“Manchester, let me hear you raise the roof one last time for Paul!” shouted Jon, with Bradley adding: “That’s our brother right there, man. Gone but you’ll never be forgotten. We miss you every single day.”

“Thank you all so much. All the messages and love and support that you’ve all showed of us and Paul’s family – we are so grateful to every single one of you,” continued Jo. “I would just love to see every single one of you in here right now to show us your hearts for our Paul!”

Jon added: “Thank you so much. It’s very special for us this evening obviously. We dedicate this performance to Paul and The British Heart Foundation.”

Paul passed away at the age of 46 from an underlying heart condition, with the news breaking weeks after the band announced their reunion. Subsequently, Hannah Spearritt departed the line-up but the remaining five banded together to record the new song These Are The Days.

Of the track, Tina said: “For 20 years now people have been asking me – when are you guys going to release new music? So we thought this year, let’s do it!”

The band will play a run of shows across the UK throughout October before heading Stateside in November for their first-ever US tour.
