Rising star Robert O’Connor returns with his latest single Save You.
The singer has enlisted Gareth Shortland – whose production credits include Steps and Will Young – to work on the track, which is influenced by Pet Shop Boys’ brand of synth-pop.
“When it comes to songwriting, my best work comes fast and is rarely altered from its original state,” says Robert.
“If the melody feels weak or the lyric doesn’t resonate, it goes in the bin.”
He adds: “My goal is long-term – to create a body of work I can be proud of, rather than chasing a hit that I will then have to repeatedly re-create to remain relevant – where’s the joy, or the artistry, in that?”
The single follows Robert’s nine-track ‘Transcendence’ EP, out now on digital platforms.
