Robbie Williams is set to be the subject of a new Netflix documentary series.
Due to launch in 2023, the show looks to offer an “unfiltered, in-depth examination of a global icon and natural-born entertainer,” according to a press release, and will cover the highs and lows of his 30-year career.
From his tenure with Take That to his chart-topping solo legacy, it will see “Robbie navigating media scrutiny throughout his career, adulation and addiction, professional and personal break-ups, reunions, recovery, and the impact they have had on his mental health”.
The series is directed by Joe Pearlman and features 25 years of never-before-seen archive material. A title has yet to be confirmed.
Robbie’s previous documentary, ‘Nobody Someday’, was released 20 years ago, and the new venture comes as he marks 25 years of his solo career.
The former Take That star has collaborated with the Dutch jazz and pop orchestra Metropole Orkest on his new orchestral greatest hits LP, which features new interpretations of tracks from his celebrated career.
“I’m so excited to announce my new album ‘XXV’ which celebrates many of my favourite songs from the past 25 years,” he says.
“Each track has a special place in my heart so it was a real thrill to record them again with the Metropole Orkest. Can’t wait for you all to hear it.”
Following its release, Robbie will return to the stage in October for a string of high-octane arena dates, opening with two nights at London’s The O2, with stops in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin.
‘XXV’ is out September 9 and available to pre-order now.
