Coldplay‘s biggest ever show is set to be released as a new concert movie on Disney+ on Hotstar.
The band’s show at the 132,000-capacity Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmadabad, India on January 26 will be livestreamed via the streamer, along with aditional behind the scenes footage.
Frontman Chris Martin said: “Namaste to all our friends in India. We’re thrilled to share that on the 26th of January, our show from Ahmedabad will be streaming live on Disney+ Hotstar, so you can watch it from anywhere in India. We hope you’ll join us – we’re so excited to visit your beautiful country. Sending lots of love!”
It’s one of two shows by the band at the venue, with the former taking place on January 25.
Shortly before the concert airs, Chris Martin and co. will release a 44-minute visual companion to their latest album, ‘Moon Music’.
Set to premiere on January 22, ‘A Film For The Future’ is executive produced by Ben Mor, who directed the band in the promo for their 2016 Beyoncé collaboration, Hymn For The Weekend.
Describing the project as “a kaleidoscopic patchwork quilt – a 44-minute multimedia tapestry”, Mor says: “It was huge privilege to have the’s eye view of such an ambitious project, with so many incredibleators and filmmakers all working independently of each other.
“The final film is simply jaw-dropping and I can’t wait for Cold fans to see it.”
Coldplay add: “We’re very to all the amazing artists lent their genius to this film. They’ve created something very beautiful and we extremely of it.”
The project was first teased on the car number plate in the artwork for 2019’s ‘Everyday Life’, meanwhile a segment from the film featured in the lyric video for the band’s recent single, feelslikeimfallinginlove.
It was created by more than 150 different visual artists from 45 countries, and will be shown at 360-degree screenings at Lightroom in London, Manchester and Seoul.
A fan-led site for the movie, powered by Microsoft AI, will launch on attf.cold.com on January 22.
