Melanie C rises above the fray on ‘Undefeated Champion’ – the latest single from her forthcoming new album ‘Sweat‘.
Arriving on the heels of ‘What Could Possibly Go Wrong?‘ and the album’s title song, the dance-pop track is “about getting knocked down and choosing to rise every single time”, says the singer.
“It’s a reminder that the hardest moments are the ones that make us stronger,” explains the ‘I Turn To You’ hitmaker. “It’s faith over fear, joy in the face of adversity – almost challenging the universe: ‘come and have a go if you think you’re hard enough!’
“At its core, it’s about realising we’re far more resilient than we think.”
Due May 1, ‘Sweat’ serves as the follow-up to her 2020 self-titled LP will be supported with a run of album launch events at intimate venues across the UK throughout April and May.
Later this year, the Spice Girls icon will embark upon ‘The Melanie C World Tour’, with dates across North America in September, the UK and Europe in October, and Japan and Australia in November.
The UK and Ireland run includes a previously-confirmed London show at the O2 Academy Brixton on October 23.
‘Sweat’ is released on May 1 and available to pre-order from Amazon, HMV, Rough Trade, Townsend and more. Listen to ‘Undefeated Champion’ below.
