Victoria Beckham will finally rejoin Spice Girls for a mystery project, Mel B has confirmed. 

According to the singer, all five members of the group – also starring Emma Bunton, Melanie C and Geri Horner – are putting the finishing touches on a new project that is coming “pretty soon”. 

“We are planning on releasing a statement,” she told The Sun. “What that is, I can’t say right now because we’re just finishing off perfecting what we’re going to be doing together, all five of us, but it’s going to be something that the fans are really going to love.”

Admitting it wasn’t hard convincing Victoria to take part, after she previously sat out on their ‘Spice World’ 2019 tour, Mel added: “Well, it’s not even about convincing her. I mean, she dressed me and my mum for when I got my MBE, so we’ve kind of always been in contact.

“It’s not like none of us are speaking together, we’ve all got a group WhatsApp, but it’s just about timing. She was really busy doing her fashion line and supporting David with his moves and his career and obviously she’s got a bunch of kids so it’s just about finding the right time and we’ve managed to do that, so there should be an announcement pretty soon.”

Last year, Spice Girls celebrated 25 years of their second album with an expanded reissue, featuring the original record along with bonus tracks and B-Sides, plus previously unreleased live recordings from the Virgin Records archive.

“The ‘Spiceworld’ era was such a fun time for us,” they said in a statement. “We’d just had a number one album with Spice, we were travelling all over the world and meeting our amazing fans, we released our second album AND we had our very own movie! 

“Who would’ve thought it? It’s crazy to think that 25 years have passed.”

Included on the set is Step To Me, the track originally recorded for the five-piece’s Pepsi campaign, along with a new  remix of ‘Viva Forever’ from John Themis.

Closing the set – which clocks in at 25 tracks – is a 15-minute megamix of Spice Girls classics called the ‘Spice Girls Party Mix’.
