Matt Goss has scrapped the release of his planned sixth solo album.
Inspired by his recent UK tour, ‘The Experience’ was the anticipated follow-up to 2022’s Top 10 ‘The Beautiful Unknown’ and was set to celebrate the Cole Porter songbook.
According to details shared at the time, the project was to be recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at London’s Abbey Road Studios, but in an email sent out to fans it seems the project has now been axed.
“It is with regret that we wish to inform you that The Experience Album from Matt Goss is cancelled,” reads a statement sent out via email to fans who pre-ordered the LP and later shared on X, in which they “sincerely apologise for any disappointment caused”.
“Matt, his management and ourselves are all disappointed this album didn’t come to fruition, and thank you for your continued support of Matt.”
The album has since been removed from Matt’s online store.

Earlier this year, Matt appeared on the cover of RETROPOP’s February edition and opened up about his recent projects while looking to the future, including a planned Bros reunion for 2024.
“There’s been talk of a biopic, which would be an incredible thing to do, and we’d like to do a film based around another record,” he teased. “Not this year, because I’m doing my thing, but next year will be everything Bros: movie, tour and a new album!
“We don’t want to do anything for the sake of it; we both feel that way. We want to do it because we want to see if we can still smash pop culture.”
