Mariah Carey releases 30th anniversary edition of seminal Music Box album featuring previously-unheard material

Mariah Carey has dropped a new expanded version of her third studio album, ‘Music Box’, in celebration of its 30th anniversary. 

Originally released in August 1993, the LP delivered the hit singles Dreamlover, Hero, Without You and Anytime You Need A Friend, topping the charts on both sides of the Atlantic upon its release.

“I feel so grateful to have the ability to share this moment with you all,” Mariah wrote on Instagram. “As I’m sitting here listening to the album, I’m filled with a myriad of emotions, thoughts and memories – going from sadness, to regret, joy, nostalgia, and amazement. Thank you for being here with me on this journey.”

Alongside the original album, the new release includes various recordings from and relating to the era, including Endless Love (with Luther Vandross), Hero (2009 Version) and All I Live For (Extended Version), along with various live recordings and remixes. 

Also featured are three unreleased songs: Do You Think of Me, Workin’ Hard and My Prayer. 

‘Music Box: 30th Anniversary Edition’ is out now digitally and available to pre-order physically for a February 2, 2024 release.
