Madonna has reportedly enlisted Katy Perry to appear on her forthcoming remix LP.
The Queen of Pop is working on the project as she celebrates her record-breaking 50 No. 1 hits on the US Billboard Dance Club Songs chart and has called on the singer to feature on the release.
Although a release date for the remix record has yet to be confirmed, the project comes ahead of the 40th anniversary of her debut single Everybody in October, according to The Sun.
“Madonna has been going flat out over the past few weeks,” insiders reveal. “She’s been a massive fan of Katy for years and always talked about doing a song with her.
“With the remix project things have fallen into place. As plans are still being sorted out, no release date is set yet. Hopefully fans won’t have to wait too long.”
Madonna and Katy might not have made music together, but this won’t be the first time they’ve worked together – the pair have previously done joint photoshoots and Katy even appeared in the music video for Madge’s 2015 song Bitch I’m Madonna.
The new project comes ahead of a monumental year, which will see her begin a career-spanning reissue project, documenting her entire discography.
Meanwhile, Madonna recently revealed she was in the studio with Swae Lee, with whom she collaborated on her 2019 ‘Madame X’ cut Crave, working on new songs.
“So great to be back in the studio making Music again,” Madonna penned. “Suprises [sic] in the New Year.”
Madonna recently released her ‘Madame X’ concert documentary on Paramount+, along with a live album featuring tracks from the performance.
In a review of the record, Retro Pop said ‘Madame X (Music From The Theater Xperience)’ “captures the ‘Madame X’ Tour and reaffirms that she is and remains at the top of her game”.
