Madonna has admitted she’s eager to hit the studio with Britney Spears and work on new music.
The Queen of Pop made the revelation in a six-minute video posted to Instagram, in which she answers 50 of her fans’ most burning questions.
Back in 2003, the pair teamed up on Me Against The Music, which peaked at No. 2 in the UK and topped the US Dance Charts, and she’s hoping to score similar success with a reunion.
According to Madonna, she’s “gagging” to get into the studio with Britney to record a follow-up to their classic hit.
The pop superstar has remained close friends with Britney since the collaboration and earlier this year attended her wedding to Sam Asghari.
At the end of the clip, she pays tribute to the Gimme More star as she looks into the camera and says, “It’s Britney, bitch!”
Britney returns to the charts this week with Hold Me Closer, her hit collaboration with Elton John, who said of the duet: “I am absolutely thrilled to have had the chance to work with Britney Spears; she truly is an icon, one of the all-time great pop stars and she sounds amazing on this record.
“I love her dearly and am delighted with what we’ve created together.”
“I was so honoured when the incredible Sir Elton John asked me to join him on one his most iconic songs,” adds Britney. “We are so excited for the fans to hear it!
“Thank you, Elton, for having me! I am so grateful that I got the opportunity to work with you and your legendary mind.”
Britney’s return to the studio comes after the pop star shared an Instagram video of herself singing a new version of her debut single …Baby One More Time.
“I haven’t shared my voice in an extremely long time… maybe too long,” she captioned the footage.
