Madonna has extended the US leg of her ‘Celebration Tour’ with an additional run of eight dates – including a special Nashville concert benefiting trans rights organisations.
Due to take place on Friday, December 22 at the Bridgestone Arena is in response to recent anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in the State, with the Open Your Heart singer slamming the move in an accompanying statement.
“The oppression of the LGBTQ+ is not only unacceptable and inhumane; it’s creating an unsafe environment; it makes America a dangerous place for our most vulnerable citizens, especially trans women of colour,” she said.
“Also, these so-called laws to protect our children are unfounded and pathetic. Anyone with half a brain knows not to fuck with a drag queen.
“Bob [the Drag Queen] and I will see you from the stage in Nashville where we will celebrate the beauty that is the queer community.”
Tickets for the newly announced dates go on sale at 10am local time on Friday, March 31.
