Lorde has covered Britney Spears’ ‘Blackout’ single Break the Ice in a new performance video.
The singer, who recently released her third album ‘Solar Power’, served a mash-up of the 2007 hit with her own song Fallen Fruit in a new performance video for Vogue.
Set at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, the clip begins with Lorde’s stripped-back cover of Break the Ice, featuring dusty drums and delicate keys.
Halfway through, she segues into Fallen Fruit, lifted from her most-recent LP – the star’s first since 2017 release ‘Melodrama’.
‘Solar Power’ hit the Top 5 in the UK and US and features the singles Solar Power, Stoned at the Nail Salon and Mood Ring.
Break the Ice is featured on Britney’s 2007 LP ‘Blackout’, also featuring the hits Gimme More and Piece of Me.
