Liza Owen has unveiled her debut major label EP ‘Songs From Monte Nido’.
The singer, who shot to fame as one-third of the Dolly Rockers before going solo in 2013, has signed to Epic Records for her first collection of tracks.
Following a series of standalone singles, including latest hit Josie, the star dropped her debut EP, featuring six track including new cuts Chlorine and Everest.
In an announcement, she shared: “I never really felt like I fit in or belonged in the place where I grew up. I always called it nowhere town, England. Couldn’t wait to get out. Always been searching for ‘something more’.
“How beautiful it is to finally feel like you’re somewhere you belong with the people you’ve been looking for your whole life… making the music you’ve been wanting to make your whole life.”
She admitted: “I’m so proud of this shit and hope when you listen to it you know that it’s ok to feel everything .
“The common thread (honestly, a life saving thread )through all of this has been the safe haven that I now call home and the friends of my f**king dreams who I’m lucky enough to have made all this music with. We also all live like 60 seconds from each other. It’s like a cult but the good kind.
“I moved to the other side of the world to chase a dream and along the way there’s been high highs and low lows. Breakdowns and heart breaks… which led to breakthroughs. A lot of wild nights and a whole lot of hangovers. I’ve felt alllllllll the damn emotions. This EP has shaped up to be the chronicles of that journey.”
“I’ll probably always be searching for that ‘something more’ cause I’m just a dreamer like that,” added the Getting Good singer. “Whatever it is… I’ll let you know when I find it.
“Until then, I’m beyond proud to share this EP with you.”
