Lee Latchford-Evans will sit out the remainder of Steps’ ‘What The Future Holds Tour’ after testing positive for Covid-19.
Earlier this month, Faye Tozer was struck with coronavirus and forced into isolation, as the group continued the trek as a four-piece.
On Saturday – the day she’s set to return to the stage for a second night at The O2 in London – it was announced Lee has tested positive and will be absent for the remaining shows.
A statement on Steps’ social media pages reads: “Lee has this morning tested positive for Covid-19 which means he is now isolating and will unfortunately be absent for the remainder of our ‘What The Future Holds’ Tour.
“We intend to carry on with the remaining three shows while the rest of us test negative.”
In the statement, signed by Claire, Faye, H and Lisa, they added: “We will continue Covid testing ourselves and all our crew daily”.
The unfortunate news comes after Steps released their latest single A Hundred Years of Winter from their latest album ‘What The Future Holds Pt. 2’ earlier this month.
In a review of the album, Retro Pop said ‘What The Future Holds Pt. 2’ is packed with “wall-to-wall pop precision” and “paves the way for the band’s 25th anniversary celebrations in 2022”.
‘What The Future Holds Pt. 2’ is available on CD, LP and Cassette.
