Kylie Minogue has confirmed she’s hard at work on an expanded reissue of her latest LP ‘DISCO’
The Can’t Get You Out of My Head star released her 15th album in November 2020 and rocketed to the top of the UK charts, becoming the first female artist to score a No. 1 album across five consecutive decades.
And she doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon, as Kylie tells T Australia magazine she’s “set up a home studio” in Melbourne to work on new tracks for a deluxe re-release.
“This year, we will do a repack of ‘DISCO’ and that instantly gets my neurons firing,” confirms Kylie. “What else can we do? What will that lead to? There’s a lot to play with…”
Kylie most recently released Real Groove as the third official single from the album, teaming up with Dua Lipa for a brand new Studio 2054 remix of the tune, and according to her management there’s lots more to come.
Speaking to Music Week, BMG’s Alistair Norbury revealed the Magic star has a “hunger” for further success following three consecutive No.1 records since she signed to the company.
“There’s going to be more repertoire coming. This record lends itself very nicely to remixes, features and collaborations,” he hinted.
“We partnered on the successful livestream [Infinite Disco] that we did with Driift. We’re looking at ways that we can maintain this campaign all through the year.
“There are a lot more ideas to come – and many of them, creatively, come from the artist, which is very exciting.”
And he’s confident the Say Something singer can pull it out of the bag and take her career to new heights in the future.
“Kylie is absolutely directly involved on a daily basis with what’s happening,” Alistair gushed.
“Having now worked on three releases over three years, all of which have been No.1 albums, it means there’s a real confidence and trust in the team. She’s a wonderful artist to work with.”
The album, featuring singles Say Something and Magic, earned a spot in the UK’s Top 40 selling albums of 2020 and was the highest-selling original vinyl release of the year.
In our review of ‘DISCO’, Retro Pop said the album, “comes just in time to help us dance through the darkness and back into the light.
“’DISCO’ is packed with upbeat, care-free ’70s inspired dance music – and, frankly, that’s just what we needed right now!”
