Kygo has opened up on how his remix of Whitney Houston‘s Higher Love came to be.
The DJ released his reworking of the classic back in 2019, with the track soaring to No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming his highest-charting track in the country.
Speaking to The Sun, he explained the circumstances behind the song, revealing: “They actually reached out to me. They had this version of Higher Love that they never officially released, and they wanted a new version of it. I got the stems for it and I made my version of it and they loved it.”
He’s already collaborated with a plethora of artists, including Tina Turner, Donna Summer and Nile Rodgers, and now Kygo has his sights set on creating a smash hit with Coldplay.
Citing a team-up with Chris Martin and co. as top of his bucket list for 2025, he added: “Well, I hope so. One of my goals since I started, was to have a song with Coldplay.
“We don’t have any songs right now but hopefully it’ll happen.”
