Kim Wilde walked away from music after touring with “isolated and lonely” Michael Jackson.
The Kids in America star joined Jackson on his Bad Tour in 1988, and soon after retired from the spotlight, after experiencing the dark side of fame.
Speaking to New! magazine, she said: “The ugliness of the fame was evident in many different ways.
“It seemed to only bring isolation and loneliness into Michael’s life,” she explained. “I felt that and that was one of the reasons I retired a few years later.
“Now I have a wonderful balance of family life, being close to nature, but also loving playing live.’’
Kim’s most recent release Here Come the Aliens came in 2018, and she’s planning to go back on the road with her Greatest Hits Tour in September.
