Jimmy Somerville’s cover of the disco classic You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) has been reworked by Gerd Janson ahead of the reissue of his debut album.

Lifted from the former Communards and Bronski Beat star’s 1989 LP, ‘Read My Lips’, the track peaked at No. 5 in the UK, giving the Scottish star his first solo Top 10.

Ahead of its 35th anniversary next year, the single has been remixed by esteemed Running Back label head, Gerd Janson, as one of the new mixes on the release.

Originally released in 1989 following The Communards’ split, the LP delivered two additional UK Top 30 hits: Comment te dire adieu? with June Miles-Kingston and Read My Lips (Enough Is Enough).

The album is being reissued courtesy of London Records, with the original tracklist appearing alongside unreleased demos, B-Sides and rarities, such as From This Moment On (from ‘Red, Hot + Blue’) and I Believe in Love (with Arthur Baker and The Beat Disciples).

Also included are remixes from AMYL, Arpeggius and William Orbit, with select orders from Jimmy’s Official Store including a free bonus CD of You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real).
