Jimmy Somerville drops AMYL remix of Read My Lips

Jimmy Somerville’s classic debut album, ‘Read My Lips’, continues to be celebrated with the brand-new AMYL remix of the iconic title song.

The third and final single to be lifted from the former Communards and Bronski Beat star’s 1989 LP discusses the need for increased funding to fight HIV/AIDS and gave him a third consecutive UK Top 30 hit.

Ahead of its 35th anniversary next year, the single has been remixed by AMYL as one of the new mixes on the release, which also includes the Gerd Janson Remix of You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real).

Originally released in 1989 following The Communards’ split, the LP delivered two additional UK Top 30 hits: Comment te dire adieu? with June Miles-Kingston and Read My Lips (Enough Is Enough).

The album is being reissued courtesy of London Records, with the original tracklist appearing alongside unreleased demos, B-Sides and rarities, such as From This Moment On (from ‘Red, Hot + Blue’) and I Believe in Love (with Arthur Baker and The Beat Disciples).

Also included are remixes from Arpeggius and William Orbit, with select orders from Jimmy’s Official Store including a free bonus CD of You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real).
