Jimmy Somerville’s iconic debut solo album, ‘Read My Lips’, has been newly-expanded for a deluxe reissue. 

Originally released in 1989 following The Communards’ split, the LP was the first solo outing from the Scottish singer-songwriter and delivered three UK Top 30 hits: Comment te dire adieu? with June Miles-Kingston, You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) and Read My Lips (Enough Is Enough).

Ahead of its 35th anniversary next year, the album is being reissued courtesy of London Records, with the original tracklist appearing alongside unreleased demos, B-Sides and rarities, such as From This Moment On (from ‘Red, Hot + Blue’) and I Believe in Love (with Arthur Baker and The Beat Disciples).

Also included are remixes from Gerd Janson, AMYL, Arpeggius and William Orbit, with select orders from Jimmy’s Official Store including a free bonus CD of You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real). 

‘Read My Lips’ is out September 1 and available to pre-order now.
