Jessica Simpson is eyeing a possible return to music.
The singer released seven albums between 1999 and 2010 before stepping away from pop to focus on motherhood and a variety of business ventures.
But in an interview with Bustle, the hitmaker – who went Top 10 in the UK with I Wanna Love You Forever, With You and her cover of Nancy Sinatra’s These Boots Are Made For Walkin’ – hinted at a comeback.
“I’m doing this as a mother now, as a wife. I was a wife last time, but this is a very different marriage,” Jessica shared. “And they’ve never seen me do this.
“I have my daughter taking a private plane with [Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s daughter] North West to go see Katy Perry in Vegas. And inside I’m like, ‘She was supposed to see me first.’ Then I’m like, ‘This is not competitive, Jessica. Let your daughter enjoy Katy Perry.'”
She added: “But there’s moments that make me want to do it – for them to see that colour of me.”
Following an 11-year absence, Jessica returned In November 2021 with a cover of Particles by Nothing But Thieves, but she’s yet to release further material.
