The Fizz star Jay Aston is on the mend after finding herself bedridden with coronavirus.
The From Here to Eternity singer – who battled mouth cancer in 2018 – revealed she and her family had tested positive for Covid-19 on her Facebook page, as she delved into the archives to share a series of vintage snaps from her Bucks Fizz heyday and solo career.
Alongside the cover of her compilation album Shape Up And Dance, Jay wrote: “Those were the days… fit and bouncy… now tucked up in bed not moving much, full of Covid… thanks China or maybe Morrison’s.
“We’ve been so careful but it’s a Trojan horse. Sanitize the sanitizer all!”
In another post, she shared old magazine cover, adding: “Blast from the past… Sunday Mag, thanks for all my lovely messages re my latest health scare with Covid.
“Progress is slow but in the right direction! Still coughing but having asthma doesn’t help.

“Anyway I’m going to post some more during my recovery. What an amazing time we had!”
However, the When We Were Young singer insisted things were looking in up another recent post, sharing: “Another shot from the fitness album promo I did… thanks for the lovely comments we’re all improving daily.
“Think the worst is behind us ! Looking forward to getting fit again!”
It comes as the group, who shot to fame in 1981 when they won the Eurovision Song Contest with the classic Making Your Mind Up, prepare to celebrate their 40th anniversary in 2021.
Singer Cheryl Baker previously teased plans to mark the occasion, hinting: “There’s all sorts of fabulous things in the pipeline… the main thing is that we’re going into the studio with Mike Stock to do album number four for The Fizz.”

The group is also planning, “a big gig on the actual anniversary, which is April 4th,” but that’s “dependent on this Covid situation – if it’s going to ease off or not”.
