Elton John and Brandi Carlile‘s one-off concert at the London Palladium is being filmed for a CBS special.
The show, which takes place at the iconic venue on March 26, celebrates the release of the pair’s upcoming album, ‘Who Believes In Angels?‘, with tickets available exclusively to those who pre-order the album.
According to Billboard, the show is being filmed for a CBS special which will air on the network on April 6, while also streaming concurrently on Paramount+.
The outlet reports that the special will include performances of songs from the LP, classics from each artist’s repertoire, plus exclusive interviews with the pair, as well as “those closest” to John and Carlile.
They are also expected to “pull back the curtain on their 20-year friendship, the journey behind their latest collaboration and share intimate footage from their process”.
Crafted by the duo alongside John’s longtime songwriting partner, Bernie Taupin, and producer Andrew Watt, the pair began working on the LP back in October 2023 at Los Angeles’ Sunset Sound.
The project also features contributions from Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, bassist Pino Palladino, and multi-instrumentalist Josh Klinghoffer.
Announcing the album, Elton says: “This record was one of the toughest I’ve ever made, but it was also one of the greatest musical experiences of my life.
“It has given me a place where I know I can move forward. Who Believes In Angels? feels like going into another era and I’m pushing the door open to come into the future. I have everything I’ve done behind me and it’s been brilliant, amazing. But this is the new start for me. As far as I’m concerned, this is the start of my career Mark 2.”
Brandi adds: “I’m still reeling from the fact that I got to do it. I think all ships rise with Elton John’s standards for songwriting, and it was an incredibly challenging and inspiring environment to work in, everybody throwing in ideas, everybody listening to everybody else’s ideas. It felt like a family.
“The world is a wild place to live in right now. It’s hard to find peace and triumph. It’s a radical act to seek out joyful and euphoric happenings. And that is what this album represents to me.”
It follows the release of the pair’s recent single, Never Too Late, which was nominated for the 2025 Academy Award for Best Original Song, and also appears on the record.
Alongside the album announcement, John and Carlile released the title song from the project.
‘Who Believes In Angels?’ is out April 4 and available to pre-order from Amazon, HMV, Rough Trade, Townsend and more.
