Deacon Blue have called off the remainder of their 2021 UK tour.
The group cut short their ‘Cities of Love’ trek amid rising cases of the Omicron Covid variant across the country.
In a social media statement, they penned: “We understand how much people were looking forward to this weekend, and we really were too, but with historic levels of covid infections circulating in the community, we feel it would be irresponsible to go ahead with our two concerts in Aberdeen on 18th December and Glasgow on 19th December.

“We were so excited about finishing our Cities of Love tour on a high this year and we know it will be disappointing to many of you that we have been forced to make this decision.
“However, it is obvious to us that gathering in large numbers would be a huge risk for our fans and our crew and with the authorities only offering broad advice we decided that it would be best for everyone if we postponed the shows until the spring.”
Instead, the band will resume the tour in the string with a pair of rescheduled dates.
