Daft Punk have shared a new video series going behind the scenes of the recording of their final album, ‘Random Access Memories’.
‘Memory Tapes’ consists of eight episodes and offers an inside look at the creation of the album, along with highlights from the various collaborators who featured on the LP.
In the first two episodes, The Strokes’ frontman Julian Casablancas – who collaborated with the electronic duo on Instant Crush – and pianist Chilly Gonzales – as featured on Within and Give Life Back To Music – both reflect on the impact Daft Punk had on their careers.
Upcoming episodes feature Pharrell Williams, Todd Edwards, DJ Falcon, Nile Rodgers and others, all recorded at Henson Studios in Los Angeles and Gang Studios in Paris, where sessions for ‘Random Access Memories’ took place.
Footage of the album’s recording process is also included in the project, which coincides with the 10th anniversary of the 2013 LP, following a reissue with unreleased material earlier this year.
A mini-documentary on the project, originally aired around the release, has also been made available.
