CHAI have shared a cover of Wham!’s holiday single Last Christmas.
The Japanese group, which collaborated with Duran Duran on their recent single More Joy!, have released the single along with an official music video.
In the clip, the four-piece girl group hosts a festive gathering complete with wine and decorations.
Both the track and accompanying visual dropped on Christmas Day.
Speaking about their collaboration with the group, Duran Duran’s keyboard player Nick Rhodes revealed the song was initially born out of a jam session between themselves, Blur’s Graham Coxon and producer Erol Alkan.
“It was such an unusual piece, we weren’t quite sure if it would fit in at first,” he said. “It reminded me of one of those retro Japanese video games, which I always found quite uplifting.
“We came up with the chant ‘more joy’ early on, and that became the key to the rest of the track.”
In a review of the album, Retro Pop called ‘Future Past’ “the group’s strongest album in years” and a record that “opens new musical possibilities for Duran Duran”.
‘Future Past’ is available on CD and vinyl.
