Noel Gallagher is the latest star to be honoured by the BRIT Awards as this year’s Songwriter of the Year.
On the back of Oasis‘ ‘Live ’25’ comeback tour, the ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ hitmaker will be recognised for his creative contribution both to the band and as a solo artist, during the ceremony at Manchester’s Co-Op Live on February 28.
Stacey Tang, Chair of the 2026 BRIT Awards Committee and Co-President of RCA Records at Sony Music UK, says: “For more than three decades, Noel has crafted songs that have become part of our collective story – bold, brilliant, and always recognisable.
“His songs have soundtracked memories for multiple generations and defined the spirit of British music globally.
“Honouring Noel as Songwriter of the Year celebrates a remarkable body of work and a creative force that continues to connect and inspire artists and fans worldwide.”
In accepting the accolade, Gallagher joins a cohort of previous winners, including Ed Sheeran, RAYE and Charli XCX.
This year’s ceremony will also see producer and singer Mark Ronson recognised, as he takes home the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Music prize, along with performances from Harry Styles and Olivia Dean.
